What a beautifully rendered moment. I felt like I was there with you and her. How great for you to enter into her world like that.

This is truly beautiful. It is so true, to be able to give up all the carp that we instill as “well this is how our lives are right now so that is what you must remember”…nooo, nooo…this person here, has so much new and interesting information…and we can be in their world, because we can do the shifting… and this, too, feels like Wu Wei. Thank you so much.

I can identify with today's Substack. From December 2018 to March 2020, I visited my mother in the nursing home. At age 94, after surviving a fall which caused a broken leg, she lost all her remaining cognitive abilities. I would visit her in the nursing home each day from 4pm to 530pm. She never knew who I was. She thought I was just a friend. But those 15 months together gave great comfort to both of us. It was the only time she spoke; she smiled, we held hands. I am grateful that I had those last 15 months with my mom while she endured dementia.

Thank you for sharing your story Anthony! I remember your stories of your mom well and how beautifully you cared for her. Wishing you well, my friend
